How To Kick A Soccer Ball 3 Soccer Kicks You Must Know
Hey guys.Matt here from epic soccer training.I want to take you through a lesson that's basic. It's how to kick a soccer ball.Ok.So there's a few type of kicks that we can do but i want to teach you kind of the three basic fundamental kicks that everybody should know. You should be able to do them with your right foot and your left foot as well.So let me take you through some of those and kind of give you the fundamentals of how to do them properly.
You want to make sure that you actually have the correct form because a lot of people always ask me playing professional soccer, how did you actually get that rocket hard shot i'm a pretty small guy.And one of them is just having the correct form and knowing where to actually kick the ball and a lot of coaches don't really teach you this.So i want to kind of give you the basics of how to do it.So i'm going to go here and the first one that we're going to go over is just a basic.
Pass and what you want to do with the pass, you want to remember, is you're going to be kicking with the inside of your foot. Most of you are righty. If you've been watching my tutorials, you know i'm a lefty. So again, what you want to do for you righties is you want to kick the ball at the base of your foot.A lot of times, where people make the biggest mistake is they kick the ball more on the end here and that's what you want to do for more of a chip which we will get.
To in a second. But what you want to do is you want to hit it at the base of your ankle because not only is there more surface area but you have more power because it's where your foot can actually lock in place. So what you want to do is you just want to lock your ankle and you just kind of want to drive through.Don't just hit the ball and stop but get your foot in and really drive through. So let me show you one right here. When i kick it to chas is you want to put.
Your foot up, lock it and follow through and it should just be a good one on the ground. And again, we can get some loft too but we're going to work on that one in the second one.So here you go, chas.I can't wait to see the comments for this guy.Ok.So again, if you're going rightfooted here, so you guys can see, you're going to lock your ankle up and you're just going to drive through. So i give it a nice, little a lot of torque,.
A lot of quick so hit it at the base of your ankle. Here you go, chas.So again, that's one of your basic passes. It's going to be very effective and it's going to leave your teammate with an easier ball to track. Now the next one, here you go.The next one i want to teach you is going to be just a basic chip and that's where we're going down the foot more to where you're getting to it's like a golf motion. You want to go underneath the ball and just kind of sweep underneath.
And you want to do that more with your toes.So as i come through, you want to be on the inside part of the ball whereas when we did a pass, your foot is completely behind the ball and the ankle.See your pass is going to be right there.Your chip is going to just be kind of swiped underneath like a golf club.So again and one of the easiest ways to do that is to actually take your foot and instead of leaving it flat, you actually want to kind of tilt your foot up a little bit and lean.
Back so you can really get under it kind of like a golf club.So again, i'm going to kind of do a quick chip for you.So again, when i do a chip, i like to chip on the very inside of the ball and you want to just lean back, drive through it and you will get that little backspin. And again, you know you have one of the better chips. That one had a little bit of curve which when you want to start getting into bending a ball, you're going to start seeing the spin go this way.Let me see the ball,.
Chas. But until then, what you want to do to get a nice ball let me actually see if i can chip it up top is you want to just drive through and just get a plain backspin.See how it's just going basically backwards that's what you want to do.So the third one that we want to do is going to be a driven shot.See that one too and what you want to do with the shot is ok, so just to recap, we have the ball here.That's.
A pass.On the inside, that's more of that backwards chip that we want to get. When you're doing a regular shot and you want to drive through it and get the most power possible, what you want to do is plant your foot a little bit out wide because what that's going to do is when you come through because you're going to want to stay and keep your knee over top of the ball and you still want to go more towards the inside of the ball. And again.
When you get into the epic soccer training course, i'm going to teach you absolutely how to do this where you can get the hardest shot that you possibly can.But what you want to do is kick on the inside of the ball and really drive through it.So i'm just going to do a light one here so you can see.But lean forward.Kick it on the inside of the ball and then as you if you want to keep going up more, just go up on the ball.So that's just a light one right there but you really want to stay back, lock.
Your ankle.Hit it more on the inside of your foot right here because that's going to be the most power and the most surface area as well.Let me see that.So again, i want you to work on those three things.Work on them with both feet. That's a lot of the problem with most people is they don't work on them with both feet.Work on getting in the corners. And again, so those are the three basics.I'm going to have more tricks where you can do different kicks, all that type of stuff but until then, go through those and then.
Also don't forget to comment, like, subscribe.Let me know what you guys want to learn.I'm here for you guys. So, also just rate.Do whatever you guys do and i will come by and personally answer them for you.And if you want to get more information about how i went from just being an average soccer player to actually becoming an allamerican and playing professional soccer player, just click the link below the tutorial right now and you will see a great tutorial i did for you.All right.Take care.
Interview with Matt Smith Epic Soccer Training Part 2
Why did you develop epic soccer training i developed it because it worked so well for me.When i was going through this, and remember i was only at high school when i was going through this.So i went from the freshmen nonstarter, to a threetime, allstate, firstteam, allstate florida player. And florida is a very high competition as far as soccer states goes, as we play allyear round. We won two state championships.I was voted allamerican, adidas allamerican, and you know i set a slew of records as far as, for school.
I think in my senior year in high school, i scored fiftynine goals which is oneoff a record. So i just saw this is a way that i saw drastic improvements. And up until that point i didn't see those results doing the traditional thing, playing club soccer year round, playing for your middle school team, your jv team. And our school eventually got ranked third in usa today, nationally, for all size schools, and we were only a school of two hundred kids.So we all started doing this program, and our coach.
Who is a phenomenal coach, he was like, what are you doing in the offseason i need to start implementing this when you're gone. He's actually since, he moved up to tennessee, won another state championship up there, and he was voted twice, in tennessee and in florida when i was playing, as high school coach of the year for all sports. So this guy, he was incredible. So i got to learn under his tutelage, and we would bounce ideas back and forth, and come up with all these training sessions of stuff we needed to improve on.
I was like a total soccer nerd but i loved it.So i wanted to help other people that might not know what do i do how do i get better is there something that i should be doing i'm not born with a bunch of talent, i'm not super athletic.Well, it doesn't really matter. You need the specific training, and then you can teach your muscles.Muscle memory and your fasttwitch fibres to start working faster. So you can do those quick moves that messi and ronaldo do when they're on the pitch.
And they do them lightening fast, and they can just recall them in a split second. That's why i created the program. To teach people who might not know what am i supposed to do.Is there an answer for getting better, or am i doomed and so yes, there's an answer. And so i created this program to teach people how to do the a to z, the stepbystep program of how to sky rocket your soccer skills, fast.It doesn't need to be years and years, and it doesn't need to be three hours a day, these boring drills. It's a lot of quick touches, and it.
Has a lot of impact on your game.I can certainly vouch for that, i think it's fantastic. You touched on this before. The key thing that sets your program, epic soccer training, apart from the normal coaching is that focus on the individual skills definitely, yeah.Like i said before, when you go to practice, depending on the team, you might be with fourteen to twentytwo guys, most of the time you're standing around, and you're scrimmaging. And when you're scrimmaging, when you're in a game, how often you actually have the ball,.
It's like nine to fifteen seconds when the ball is at your feet depending on if you're centremid, or not, because obviously you get the ball and you onetouch it away, you get the ball and you onetouch it away. So, you know, i try to do it in a way that's as simple as possible i guess.I'm sure you can see that there's a lot of improvement with your daughter as well. And you as well, hopefully. It's a bit difficult with them, i don't know if you've ever training young girls but it's like trying to herd cats! they're all standing around, talking all the time.
I know, they want to talk about the cute boys and stuff. It's funny, when i was in jv, in my high school, so i was probably like fifteen, i coached, i was an assistant coach for the varsity girls team, i was like the firstever.I had all the knowledge but i wasn't sure how do i transform, what's up here, into physical play and everything, and speed everything up, speed the rate of play up.Eventually in my sophomore year, i finally caught up.All the good coaches i've had, teaching me all this stuff, and i'm like, i get it now!.
This is what i need to do.I need to do all the dynamic touches. So to go back to that question before, i don't know if i answered that fully. The dynamic touches, is what i call it.When you're doing team play you don't get the ball a whole lot and depending on the coach, he might not tell you certain things to do.We do classroom sessions as well. And the program, i don't know if you've seen those or had a chance to check those out those.
Really give you the soccer iq.So all the stuff i learned from these coaches.I had some amazing coaches that played for the english premier league as well.Like manchester united specifically. They were teaching all these things, and that's what i want to teach all these people too. There's the physical aspect of play, all the touches, all the quick control, getting your onetouch down, getting your moves down as well, so you can recall them in a split second but then there's also the iq part of things.
Most people don't understand the concept of support. They think, i don't know why i'm not getting the ball. It's one of the main questions, i'm not getting the ball, and i'm open.I'm like, you think you're open but you're probably not. They hide behind a player, and it's like this.Am i open no.Just move a little bit over, take the extra two, three yards. Now you're open because to the other player, who is playing you the ball, they don't want to seem like the one to lose the ball all the time.
Trying to get the ball to you. It's little, simple things like that which we teach throughout the entire course. We teach supporting, attacking.Stuff for corner kicks, the number one way to score off crossing, is one of my favorites, and that's from one of my coaches, sean brower who was the coach of the year.He instilled this into me, and it's one of the things you'll see professional players do all the time. They get really easy assists, and if they're a striker making a run towards goal,.
Really easy goals. And he was one of those guys who, he said if your name is in the paper, it doesn't say how you scored, it just says your name and that you scored.I think my brother chaz, which if you've watched any of the youtube tutorials you'd know, he was king of the garbage goals. He was always in the right place, at the right time.He just had a knack for that.So we try and teach in those classroom drills how to have a knack for finishing.
Around the net.The classroom drills are fantastic. The whole thing about support. One of the things i'm trying to teach the girls is once you kick the ball, you don't just stand in the same spot, you have to keep moving and the ball might come back to you.Actually a funny thing, when i watched the tutorial about framing the goal, the next game i played in, our team actually scored a goal in the same way. It's just ironic that we'd seen the tutorial, and then that's exactly what happened. It was great.I think one of the things. One of.
The other reasons i did this program, is people don't know what they don't know. They just keep doing the same stuff, and unfortunately, they keep getting the same results. So this is making people aware, oh wow, there's a lot of cool little things that i can do to tweak my game that will have massive results. And especially for coaches, to be able to, because we do have a lot of coaches in the program as well, we have thousands and thousands of not only players but coaches and parents.
From all over the globe.Currently it's over a hundred and ten countries worldwide, and about ten thousand people that are going through the program and seeing incredible results. So it's welltested then! yeah, i know, i think we're there! we're always improving it too, it's just making people aware that there are little things like framing the goal that you can do that can go from taking your team, being in a sudden death overtime, to winning a national championship.Or winning the tournament that you're in, or your club team.
